My design is an elevated walkway through my town. Instead of tearing down trees and removing animal habitats to create new paths through the woods, this walkway is designed to not interfere with the surrounding environment. The walkway goes through the trees and over animals’ homes to allow people to interact with the environment in a safe way. The pillars holding the walkway are green to blend in with the trees. The walkway gives everyone the opportunity to go outside and access fresh air. It is elevated and crosses above streets which will lessen pedestrian accidents. With climate change, water levels are rising. The elevated walkway design takes this into account and will allow people to continue to enjoy the outdoors regardless of flooding on the ground below.
