SUMMARY:CoDesign Conversations: Centering Human Experience in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:CoDesign Conversations: Centering Human Experience in Healthcare \nJoin us on May 28 for our LinkedIn Live conversation series exploring the dynamic intersection of public and private sector innovation.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The U.S. healthcare system exists to extend our lives and health\, but it ranks 17th in outcomes\, while operating the most expensive system in the world. For many\, their health experiences are defined by prohibitively high costs\, complexity in navigating the system\, and a profound lack of trust. How do we pivot from a system that serves its own metrics to one that centers on what the people it serves most need and want? A re-orientation towards human dignity starts with listening\, co-creating\, and measuring success through the eyes of the patient. \nJoin us for Episode 10 of CoDesign Conversations. Moderated by Amy Heymans\, CEO of Beneficent\, the discussion will bring together esteemed professionals who have spent their careers centering the human experience in healthcare. Guest speakers include: \n\nBetsy Ramaccia is a design researcher\, strategist\, and facilitator with nearly 20 years of experience in social sector design. In her role as Senior Director of Design Research at Coforma\, she led a participatory research process intended to inform the US federal government’s response to Long Covid. Previously\, she led human-centered design initiatives across a range of topics\, including developing tools for healthcare teams to support and empower patients during a cancer diagnosis. Through her work\, Betsy strives to push the limits of the design process so that it can be a force for creating more equitable systems\, inclusive communities\, and empathetic leaders.\nDr. Geetha Govindarajan\, MD\, PhD\, MPH\, is a physician-scientist and innovator at a large community health center on the south side of Chicago\, trained in internal medicine\, integrative medicine\, and public health\, with a special interest in cardiovascular health. A passionate advocate for underserved communities\, she has volunteered locally and globally\, co-designing and co-creating care that centers the whole person. She is grateful to share her perspectives on today’s panel.\nDr. Linda Roussel\, PhD\, RN\, CNL\, NEA-BC\, FAAN\, is a professor in the Department of Graduate Studies at the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston. Before coming to UTHealth Houston\, Dr. Roussel was a professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham\, where she served as the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program director. In addition to her academic career\, Dr. Roussel also held nurse executive roles in acute and long-term healthcare systems. She also serves as a consultant in management and leadership and has published textbooks in the field. Dr. Roussel is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.\n\nMay 28\, 2026\, 1pm ET / 10am PT | Live on LinkedIn \nJoin us for a solution-forward conversation\, presented in partnership with Coforma\, about the critical role of design in shaping a more accessible and equitable world. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thursday\, May 28\, 2026\n1-1:45 pm ET / 10-10:45 am PT\nLinkedIn Live Event | FREE to attend!\n \n Join Us On LinkedIn\n \n \n \n \n \n This event is presented in partnership with Coforma.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n SPEAKERS \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Amy HeymansCEOBeneficent \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Betsy RamacciaDirector\, Design ResearchCoforma \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Geetha GovindarajanPhysician-Scientist | Healthcare Innovator \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Linda Roussel\, PhDProfessorCizik School of Nursing\, UTHealth Houston
