BSA & DME Present: Now What?!
Exhibition Design and Social Practice
Join us at BSA Space on May 23 for a design discussion and exhibition tour of Now What?! Advocacy, Activism & Alliances in American Architecture Since 1968
Join the Boston Society for Architecture and CoDesign Collaborative at BSA Space on May 23, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:30 pm ET for a tour of Now What?! Advocacy, Activism & Alliances in American Architecture Since 1968 and discussion on exhibition-making, experiential graphic design, and activism in architecture. The design conversation will be led by Jessie Rubenstein, exhibition designer, and the exhibition tour will be led by Ilana Curtis, exhibitions manager and Masters Candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Now What?! blends design practice with academy as a strategy for a socially based practice, and the design development of the exhibition followed suit. The design team, through an independent study with students at Boston University School of Visual Arts conceived of new participatory and engagement strategies within the existing exhibition framework. Ilana led a J-Term course at Harvard GSD to research and add Boston-specific content to Now What?! in a special section called “Boston Changemakers.” Visitors have ample opportunities to add their own voices to the exhibition.
This event is free for students, BSA & CoDesign Collaborative members and open to the public with $10 tickets. Registration is required for all attendees.
